Appearance:
A well built man with a graceful air. Luxord sports platinum blond hair cut, short and well trimmed as well as a goatee kept in much the same manner. Luxord has dark blue eyes that are somewhat intense at times. His rather 'reserved' looks are countered by the fact that he sports multiple piercings on his ears and that charming smirk he carries. His skin is somewhat dark suggesting he doesn't spend ALL his time indoors. While his clothes hide it, he also sports two tattoos on his person: a spade intertwined with a heart tattoo on his right shoulder and an X on his inner right wrist.
Personality:
Luxord is rather laid back most of the time and generally presents himself as a gentleman, although this nature can sometimes come off as flirtatious. However, its debatable whether he really is gentlemanly since his true demeanor can be rather crafty at times, constantly searching out for something that will benefit him in some way. Luxord treats life and his dealings as if it were some complicated chess game. He is rather intellectual as well, enjoying a good book to read (classical literature, thank you) when not playing one of his games. Some might go as far as to call Luxord a cheat but he prefers to think of it as 'playing by his own rules.' He has a sly tongue and is quiet adapted in talking his way out of any given situation, although it could be the accent. Despite the fact that his accent makes him seem like a snob he is anything but and for the most part can be friendly to others, enjoying a good pint where he can get one or at the very least a cuppa (alright so that last one adds to the 'snob' air but I digress).
He has a weakness to a good challenge, not a fight, but a challenge of his wits and cunning. Luxord despises losing and once he's started he often finds that he starts losing his confidence as well, sometimes even going so far as to panic (although it might not show on his face).
Background: Luxord grew up in a small family of five, his two parents and two younger sisters, Tabitha or Tabby and Elizabeth or Liz, who were twins five years younger than himself (and he’s the only one who can seem to tell them apart). His father was a librarian, which is where he first got his love for classic literature because that was what his father brought him up on. His mother, on the other hand, was a witch and owned a local pub where many of the wizarding world frequented, so she mostly stayed home during the day and took care of him and his siblings before going off to work. They were not very strict in their raising of him and his sisters (not that they didn’t have their disagreements when Luxord came home with pierced ears). Luxord was fairly close to his family growing up and was a little distraght when he had to go away to Hogwarts for school at eleven.
He made it through, however, and even made a few friends out of his first year. Luxord even showed a talent for procephy making in the fields of Arithmancy and Astrology, two of his favorite subjects next to Charms. He graduate Hogwarts with fairly good grades but didn't know much about what he wanted to do with all of his knowledge. That was until he managed to hear about an opening at the school for the position of Arithmancy. Seeing a very good opportunity, Luxord applied for the job and because of his high scores in the subject he got it fairly easily.
